I loved the way this book was written. It had a fantastic flow, the poetry was poignant, and Xiomara's voice and character really shined through. This is a story about a teenage girl who lives in Harlem.

She lives with her twin brother, her /5. If you just love to read poetry, this book is for you, too, because it's loaded with poems.

The POET is simply outstanding work with excellent character development, complex and intriguing stories within the 'story' that leaves you almost a bit breathless and a finale that resonates with all the needed ingredients of great crime novels.
