      “Empowerment of Women Representatives in Gram Panchayats - A Case Study of Udupi District”. I express my gratitude to the authorities of University Grants Commission, South Western Regional Office, Bangalore, for providing me an opportunity to do the Minor Research Project. I am grateful to the Management, Principal Prof. Y. Bhaskar. The book provides for 10 modules together with a Base Module, each specially devised to meet the training needs of different functionaries in different tiers of Panchayati Raj system. These modules have been prepared after extensive assessment of training needs and consultations with experts and institutions across the country who are engaged in or are concerned with capacity-building of Panchayati Raj .
